Hilo native appointed deputy labor director

Gov. David Ige has appointed Anne E. Perreira-Eustaquio as the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations’ deputy director, effective Oct. 1. Perreira-Eustaquio, a Hilo native and Waiakea High School graduate, is currently the unemployment insurance program administrator, managing the safety net of the federal-state program. She has spent her career in the unemployment division, working her way up from auditor.

“I hope to make a positive impact and contribution leveraging my 30 years of public service experience,” Perreira-Eustaquio said in a statement.

Perreira-Eustaquio earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Chaminade University of Honolulu.

Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
